Pearce Construction of Barnstaple has just started building 14 new houses, two of which will be affordable housing for local needs.
However, thanks to their innovative planning approach, Pearce Construction will be helping to deliver a new sports field consisting of football and cricket facilities together with parking and a separate playing field for the existing school, which could include a site for a new school.
The Chairman of Swimbridge Parish Council, Ray Liverton, said: "We are grateful to Pearce for their help and their resourcefulness in creating such an inventive plan for the area. Without their support, we would never have seen such terrific benefits for the community. They definitely went above and beyond the call of duty on this one."
