Heart’s Desire will offer educational workshops and raise awareness of healthy foods

A new health food shop in Combe Martin’s Heart Centre will be offering educational workshops for the community.

Heart’s Desire in the High Street has been opened by Amanda-Jayne (AJ) Staddon and will continue the Heart Centre ethos of offering help and advice to improve peoples’ wellbeing.

The food and gift shop held its official launch on Saturday with an open day welcoming people to the shop and it will be open six days a week.

AJ said it was hoped to run educational food workshops and also to work with local schools to encourage healthy eating.

“We are also joining up with Lauren Telling of Tales of a Wooden Spoon from Ilfracombe, who will be brining in samples every Saturday for people to try,” she said.

“Even depression and children’s behavioural issues can be helped with food.”
