A breakfast networking organisation with more than 8,000 businesses as members is to open a new group in Barnstaple. 4Networking, which was launched just over a year ago in Somerset, is now the UK's largest joined up breakfast networking organisation with 170 groups. The new North Devon group is being launched at Barum Gate in Barnstaple on Thursday, July 24, and will then meet fortnightly from 8am-10am, allowing members to build their businesses over breakfast! Area Leader of the new Barnstaple group, John Holden, says: "Small, new businesses know they should 'network', but many find the prospect daunting, put off by smart cars in the car park and the perception that everyone is more successful and experienced than they are. "4Networking challenges those perceptions, targeting small businesses, very often home-based start-ups and offering genuine business and personal support with a friendly face." As well as attending face-to-face meetings, 4Networkers can join an online forum, ( www.4networking.biz), where they have the chance to do business with like-minded people and feel comfortable discussing issues that worry them. They can also share problems, knowing they have the support of others who have faced similar challenges setting up their own businesses. Meanwhile, 4 Networking has outperformed hundreds of entrepreneurs to reach the West, Wales and Northern Ireland Regional Finals of the 2008 HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards. The national contest, now in its eighth year, is designed to seek out the most promising start-up businesses in the UK. To sign up for the new Barnstaple 4Networking group visit www.4networking.biz
