A new and modern entrance to Green Lanes Shopping Centre in Barnstaple has officially opened to shoppers in time for Christmas.
The new entrance to Green Lanes Shopping Centre in Barnstaple is now open.
The modernised entrance, which has been in construction for around eight months, and includes several new units.
The larger unit will house a food and drink retailer which is yet to be announces, and two smaller units have been refurbished on the opposite side.
During the Christmas period, one will house choirs and musicians, while the other will become a pop-up shop for North Devon Hospice.
Centre manager Craig Bulley said he was really pleased with the finished opening.
He said: “It’s been really interesting to just stand and listen to people coming in and just saying ‘wow’.
“People are saying how much better and more modern it looks.”
Craig said early next year, in late January-February, the new grey flooring in the entrance will be rolled out across the centre.
Improvements, including LED lighting on the units, will also be rolled out.
