A RELATIVE newcomer to Bideford has become its newest town councillor.Emma Louise Farrington was co-opted from eight candidates to fill the seat left vacant by the resignation of former Lib Dem councillor Myrna Bushell.Miss Farrington works from her Bideford home as an advertisement manager with national women's magazine Period Living and previously worked in the national press at Wapping.She told the Gazette that she knew the area and had made a lot of contacts in the holiday industry prior to moving to Bideford 18 months ago. While visiting friends she had "gone window shopping" and found North Devon ticked all the boxes."This will be my first time as a councillor," she said. "Although I had always thought about doing something, rather than being the person on the street corner or writing to the papers complaining."Miss Farrington said she has no political affiliation.
