Domino’s pizza could finally be opening in Bideford after 18 months of speculation, as a new planning application is submitted for Atlantic Park site.

National pizza chain Domino's could finally be coming to Bideford, after more than 18 months of speculation.

Domino's UK and Ireland has put in a planning application for an illuminated sign at the Atlantic Park site in Clovelly Road.

Last January, the Gazette reported a planning application had gone in for part of the building housing Starbucks to become a pizza takeaway outlet.

Although the planning documents initially referred to Pizza Hut, this was later confirmed by the applicants to be incorrect.

Several sources said it was in fact Domino's looking to open up, but Domino's never confirmed this at the time.

Planning permission was granted in February last year for the 'pizza outlet' in the only empty unit left in Atlantic Park.

The Gazette has contacted Domino's but received no comment.

The application for the sign is being considered by Torridge District Council.
