It is a tale of two Richards for North Devon Theatres Trust as a new chairman takes the helm. Richard Purchase has taken on the role as chairman Richard Prowse moves on to new things after being on the board for more than 20 years and chairman for nine. Mr Purchase has an HR background and has spent a great deal of time working in non-executive positions in the NHS, including chairing a large trust. He has an interest in the arts and is keen to look at ways to ensure the disadvantaged can enjoy them. I am really excited to lead an innovative and vibrant charity to tackle the challenges all arts organisations are currently facing, he said. We have opportunities to expand what we do and I look forward to helping engage with the public to provide an enhanced offering. Richard Prowse has been a major player in the North Devon arts world and has been involved in many projects including the renovation of the then Queens Hall and reopening of the Queens Theatre in 1993.
