A NEW interpretation board at Fremington Pill describes how the local ecology once helped mould a thriving economy in North Devon.

The board describes how Fremington clay was used since medieval times. It also illustrates the work of the famous Fishley Pottery, which once exported its products from the Fishley Quay, particularly to America.

The new board is the result of an initiative by Devon County Council Fremington Rural Cllr Rodney Cann who has funded the installation from his allocation of council's Exeter Airport funds.
