High View has been made from recycled materials

The opening of a new play area made from recycled materials at High View in Bideford West was well attended on Friday.

More than 250 people gathered at the Westward Housing park to enjoy the new wooden ramps and climbing frames as well as plenty of activities.

These included face painting, a visit by the lizards and snakes of Really Wild Learning and nibbles from a stone-fired pizza oven.

Residents’ group Open Spaces Bideford West oversaw the development of the area off Pynes Lane, which was designed by Earth Wrights, and Anna Roberts from the group carried out the official opening.

Anna said: “This project – the first of man – has been long awaited. We are passionate about regenerating parks and green spaces in Bideford West for the community to enjoy.”
