A new ‘job club’ is opening in Bideford Library today (Wednesday).
The project was created by housing provider, Liverty, with the help of local organisations.
Liverty has invested £4,000 into the job club to run it for the first six months, and it will be open every Wednesday, from 10am-1pm.
Colin Bray, of library-operators Libraries Unlimited, said: “We are delighted that this will be adding value to the existing library offer.
“This service will help people with job searches, job applications, CVs, covering letters, support development of IT skills and linking people with other organisations for training, learning and volunteering opportunities.”
Councillor Stuart Barker, Devon County Council’s cabinet member for economy and skills, added: “By supporting this service, we can help prepare individuals for the workplace, and provide support with moving on to further training, employment or self-employment.”
