Brand new art gallery in Cooper Street hopes to introduce some new craftsmen to Bideford.
A brand new gallery has opened in Bideford and the owner is hoping it will put the area on the map.
Artist Jill Rousseau has owned several galleries across the south west of England and France.
Her latest venture in Cooper Street has a mixture of ceramics, jewellery and paintings.
Jill said: “Normally new craftsmen go to St Ives, but I have managed to get two here so that is very good news.
“I hate when people walk into a gallery and feel intimidated.
“The work here goes from £6 to £600, so there is something for everyone.”
Jill and her husband Michel moved to Bideford from Somerset where they owned and ran a gallery for two years.
Their first gallery was in Wareham in Dorset, which they ran for 10 years, before moving to France to open one up there.
Jill added: “The reception we have had in Bideford has been absolutely fantastic.
“We have already done better than we had hoped and love meeting new faces.”
