New application for Ilfracombe hotel site

A new planning application for 11 apartments has been lodged to kick start stalled redevelopment of a derelict Ilfracombe hotel site.

The Berkeley on the seafront was one of several “stalled sites” being tackled by the local authorities after it was left badly damaged by fire and its original planning permission expired earlier this year.

The new application from Hulme Upright Ltd seeks to reinstate approval for 11 self-contained two-bedroomed flats and associated parking, as well as additional repairs to the inside of the listed building following the 2007 fire.
