Neighbours join schoolchildren for harvest festival

CHILDREN at St Mary’s Primary’s School in Bideford celebrated harvest festival by taking produce and foodstuffs into school and distributing it to the nearby Springfield Day Centre.

They also held a celebration event in the school hall and there was standing room only as they sang and gave presentations to an audience of mums, dads, grandparents, neighbours and residents of the Marlborough Court sheltered housing development.

Acting head teacher Adrian Scarrett said he was very pleased with the way the day had gone and wanted this to be the first of many such community events.
