North Devon Council is reviewing long stay parking charges and arrangements in Barnstaple.

The council is proposing changes at its Rolle Quay and Barnstaple Rugby Club car parks in a bid to reduce congestion in Fairview Road, caused by capacity issues at the popular Fairview car park.

Long stay permit holders would be able to park in both Rolle Quay and the rugby club under the proposals, and the charging structure for Rolle Quay would change to £1.10 per hour for four hours and £5 for up to 24 hours.

Fairview car park will remain unchanged, providing parking at £1.70 all day and free on Sundays.

North Devon Council leader, Councillor Des Brailey said: "By offering a cheaper all day option for visitors and allowing permit holders to park in both car parks, it will ensure the car parks are better used and will also relieve pressure on Fairview car park."

The consultation on the changes runs until Thursday, January 11. You can have your say by visiting the council's website.
