AN investigation is underway after a Royal Navy Lynx helicopter made a forced landing near Lynmouth yesterday (Thursday.)
It is thought the aircraft from RNAS Yeovilton flew into power cables during a low flying training flight over Exmoor, somewhere between Lynmouth and Foreland Point.
It came down in a field yesterday afternoon, but neither of the two personnel on board were injured, according to the Ministry of Defence.
The windscreen was broken during the incident and there was some damage to rotor blades.
