This is the moment a naked swimmer streaked away from police at Ilfracombe Pier yesterday (Sunday).
Officers were called to the Quay at around noon following reports of three men swimming in the water naked.
One of the men was apprehended by police but managed to wriggle free and streak off down the pier – he thought better of darting into the harbour master’s office and climbed up on to Lantern Hill, making his way through the undergrowth and disappearing from view.
The action was captured on video by Scott Lawrence, who told the Gazette: “He was swimming in the water naked then got out to get dressed but got grabbed by two police officers, but managed to break free from them and went on the run as you can see in the video.”
A police spokesman said all three men had been identified and enquiries would be followed up.
