A NEW form of mothers' meetings is taking off in Bideford with the formation of a local group of Netmums Meetups.Using the Internet, Netmums.com is a local "social network" for mums, enabling them to make contact and new friends.Natasha Garbutt, chair-mum of the newly-formed Bideford branch, said: "I know from experience that the best source of advice and support comes from other mums. But these days we are unlikely to live near our extended families or the friends we grew up with. So when we do have our children, we are faced with starting to build a whole new set of friends."Netmums.com is a local social network for mums, with thousands of members in this area. But, so far, it has been up to each member to arrange to make friends through the site. So we have set up a local group to make it easier."The first official Bideford Netmums Meetup will take place at the Velvet and Vanilla Cafe Bar in Cooper Street at 10am next Monday. Mums can just turn up, Members will be wearing Netmums t-shirts and have balloons! For more details log on to www.netmums.com
