A gang of community volunteers have descended on the Muddiford Inn over the past two weekends to give it a face lift.
Landlords Gareth and Hayley Chastney invited locals and regulars to join them over four days or decorating the outside of the pub, with food and some free drinks included.
The pub was in need of decorating but a lengthy road closure for road works and then flooding in January kept putting the project on hold.
It enjoyed huge community support during the flooding, with many people showing up unasked to help.
The volunteers used about 50 litres of paint and had great support from Johnstone’s Paint in Barnstaple.
Gareth said there had been a good turn out of volunteers: “We are very happy, we could not have asked for any more than that and it has made it possible to do what needed to be done.
“Thank you to Colin Reed, James of J and S Building Contractors, Dan Perrin Landscapes, Pete Wilkie at St Austell Brewery, Gary and Toby at GT Ales and Steve the Muddiford butcher.”
The pub is hosting a dog show on bank holiday Monday, May 28.
