Mrs Recycle drops in to nursery

YOUNG recyclers at Zig Zags Nursery in Barnstaple have been learning how collecting their old Christmas cards will help grow trees for the future.

After an appeal in the North Devon Gazette by Mrs Recycle, environmental educator Cathy Karniewicz, to collect old cards and help support a Woodland Trust replanting scheme, she was invited to go along and talk to the children.

The morning was spent looking at the issue of rubbish, the problems it causes, but how it can be reused and recycled. Cathy’s visit concluded with a special woodland workshop.

Children at the nursery have since been busy collecting old Christmas Cards to support the Woodland Trust ongoing 14 year campaign for more native trees. More information on the campaign is available at www.moretreesmoregood.org.uk/cards.
