The UKs top mountainboarders will be arriving in Bideford for the weekend of July 18 and 19 for the opening round of the All Terrain Boarding Association's National Series 2009.

South West Extreme Adventure Centre are hosting the opening round of the British National Series 2009,where the competition will be fierce as the riders have been preparing for this first event of the season.

Situated next to the Big Sheep tourist attraction, South West Extreme will be the place to be over that weekend where on the Saturday four-man boardercross racing will be taking place. Freestyle competitions will take place on the Sunday.

Boardercross racing is where four riders race down a purpose built track giving their all to win. The tracks are usually about 400 - 800 metres long and consist of various features including rollers which are used to create speed, jumps and berms (corners which are raised to allow riders to turn sharper and carry more speed).
