Both carriageways on A361 to be closed overnight next month and in January.

Motorists are being warned about more overnight closures on the A361.

A daytime diversion for eastbound traffic heading from Barnstaple to Tiverton at Newtown via the B3227 has been in place since September 28.

But further overnight closures of both carriageways are expected in mid-November and mid-January.

A Devon County Council spokesman said: "As the scheme involves waterproofing the bridge deck, the work is weather dependant.

"Provisional dates for the next overnight closures will be around mid November and mid January but this may be subject to change, depending on how the programme is progressing.

"When dates have been confirmed they will be advertised with at least a week's notice. All overnight closures will be from 7pm to 6am."

Devon County Council is carrying out repair work on the River Exe Viaduct, west of Bolham Roundabout in Tiverton.
