A motorcyclist has sustained ‘life-threatening’ injuries after a collision between a car and a motorbike on the B3227.

A motorcyclist has been left with life-threatening injuries after a collision with a car on the B3227.

Police were called to the collision between Atherington and Torrington at 10.30am yesterday (Monday).

The motorcyclist, a 55-year-old man from Newton Abbot, sustained life-threatening injuries when his Suzuki bike collided with a black Mercedes car.

The man was airlifted from the scene to Derriford Hospital where he remains.

The driver of the Mercedes, a man in his 60s, and two other occupants of the car were uninjured in the incident.

The road was closed for around five and a half hours while local officers, the roads policing team and the serious collison investigation unit attended the scene.
