Motorcyclist was flown to Derriford Hospital after collision with car at Bucks Cross yesterday (Wednesday).

A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a collision on the A39 yesterday (Wednesday).

The collision at Bucks Cross happened at around 7pm involving a Suzuki motorcycle and a Vauxhall Adam car.

The road was closed between the Hoop’s Inn and Bucks Cross while police, fire and ambulance crews attended.

The motorcyclist was originally thought to have life threatening injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

It is understood the person’s serious head and hip injuries are now not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the car was extricated from the vehicle by fire crews and taken to North Devon District Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was reopened at around 9.50pm.
