Town council secures funding for extra annual cuts.

ROADSIDE verges in and around Barnstaple will now be cut six times a year for the next three years.

Barnstaple Town Council has secured £23,244 in Town and Parish (TAP) funding to pay for two extra annual cuts in addition to the four already funded by Devon County Council.

All the main routes into the town will be covered – an area of nearly 108,000 square metres.

Grass verges were last cut in late October and contractors are expected to carry out the first cut of 2014 in late February or early March.
