THE National Trust is inviting people to spend a week on Exmoor and learn the traditional rural skills which are still in use on the moor.The week long residential course begins on Saturday, February 16 and participants will learn hedge laying, fencing, walling, coppicing and - weather permitting - swailing, the art of controlled burning. No experience is necessary, but anyone with some knowledge will be able to add to it.Home for the week will be Exmoor Basecamp near Lynmouth, with all food and transport provided, including station pick-ups.Everyone on the course will be asked to help out with minor chores, though, so you may have to cook your own dinner on occasion!The Rural Skills course runs February 16-23.
