Joel’s mother, Tracey, said: “My Joel’s birthday will be Monday 27th June This has always been a family affair due to his sister Carleigh and his brother Gareth having their birthday on 26th June, so they always celebrated the three birthdays as one on 26th June.

“As you can imagine that celebration at this time is impossible and all they want for their birthdays is for Joel to come home alongside with his elder brother Christopher and all the family, so please, anyone out there that has got any information about Joel’s disappearance please, please get in touch with the Devon and Cornwall or Gwent Police.”

Joel’s girlfriend, Sara Bannister, said: “This is completely out of character, he would always let his mum know what he was doing and would not just disappear like this.

“I’m absolutely devastated and so worried about him as is everyone else that knows and loves Joel.

“He has such a large following with over 10,000 members on his missing page on Facebook, all wishing for Joel’s safe return home.

“We beg for anybody that knows anything, no matter how small it might be, please get in touch with the police and anybody that went to the party in Fernworthy to think back and try and think of anything that could of been out of the ordinary or if you saw Joel after 12.30pm on the Sunday afternoon.”

Detective Inspector Steve Parker, leading the investigation into Joel’s disappearance, said: “We know that Joel was last seen at a junction of the tracks about 200metres from the main site, approximately between midday and 1pm on Sunday 22 May, although the timings may be slightly wrong.

“He was in the area of a white Transit style van and we are keen to trace the occupants.

“The van was parked beside a red car and anyone who can assist in identifying the occupants is asked to contact the police.

“I would also like to reiterate that it is not my team’s intention to investigate minor offences that may have been committed, we are focusing on the search for Joel and anyone who has information that can assist us in that search should contact the investigation team.”

If anyone has any information that can help police, call Devon and Cornwall police on 08452 777444 quoting reference 421 280511.
