Police confirm a child has been taken to hospital after being found at Knapp House, hours after woman appeals for information on missing boy in the Bideford area.

Police and paramedics were called to Knapp House in Northam this afternoon (Monday) to reports of a missing child.

At 2.55pm the child was found after an extensive search of the campsite and caravan park.

The child was taken to North Devon District Hospital.

Police have not confirmed condition of the child and said no further details would be given until a 'later statement'.

Earlier this afternoon, a woman posted on Facebook appealing for details about a young boy who had gone missing in the Bideford area.

Officers are continuing to investigate and anyone with information are asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 593 of 28/08/17.
