BIDEFORD Baptist Church was overflowing as more than 230 people attended a farewell service for their Minister, the Reverend Ian Handscomb.Mr Handscomb has retired after 40 years in the ministry, the past 15 years at Bideford Baptist Church.There were special greeting from Christians Together, the Baptist Union, North Devon Ministers Fellowship and Baptist Churches and the Baptist World Alliance.Mr Handscomb was presented with two paintings of local scenes and a cheque. There was also a picture of Bideford from the Women's Guild and a photo album from church members containing many of the events and people with whom Mr Handscomb has been associated during the past 15 years.
