A FIRE crew from Barnstaple used special pads to mop up spilled milk after a road accident near Loxhore on Tuesday morning.
Called to the incident near Borough Farm at 7.47am, the fire crew found a van overturned and police were called as the single carriageway was completely blocked.
A small quantity of milk was leaking from the van, which was carrying a number of plastic milk bottles. This was mopped up from the roadway using Environment Agency pads and the fire crew stayed in attendance while the van was righted in case of further spillage.
The male driver of the van was checked over by ambulance staff as a precautionary measure.
