Choir member Estelle Liepa was keen to help Northam Lodge, as her sister Esme has lived there for three years.

The Military Wives Choir will be the stars of the show at Northam Lodge's concert this month, due to one member's personal link to the charity.

Choir member Estelle Liepa, 34, wanted to help raise funds for the Bideford-based charity as her sister Esme Williamson is a resident.

Esme, 36, has lived at Northam Lodge for more than three years and needs 24 hour care. Estelle said: "Northam Lodge is a real home from home for Esme and all the other residents.

"The carers do a great job and we know that Esme is well cared for at all times."

On November 24, the choir will sing alongside Hartland Orchestra at the Methodist Church in Bideford High Street, starting at 7pm.

There will be singing, classic music, and a finale involving the audience as well.

Estelle added: "To raise money for such an amazing charity that is so close to my heart is wonderful.

"I really hope we have a great turn out and it will be a fun start to the Christmas period."

Tickets to the charity concert are available from www.northamlodge.co.uk or 01237 477238 at £15 each.
