A special memorial event is being held on Thursday to remember Katie Gammon. The 17-year-old who inspired many with her journey through cycstic fibrosis and a double lung transplant, died in hopsital this weekend. Now her friends are planning to come together to remember her and release balloons and lanterns in her memory. Katie organised a number of sponsored walks along the Tarka Trail raising thousands-of-pounds for charity, despite being in desperate need of a new pair of lungs. Austin Wallas, who helped to organise the walks with Katie and her family, has arranged the get-together on Thursday. He said: We are all deeply saddended at this time and being together as a group will be a great way of showing our feelings and support. The event time is 7pm and the meeting place will be the start place of the popular Tarka Walk that Katie hosted. Katies friends are invited to come along to remember Katie at 7pm in the Civic Centre car park in Barnstaple. For more information, the Facebook event can be found here.
