Man threatened to jump from Torridge Bridge in Bideford

Police called out to Torridge Bridge yesterday (Tuesday) to reports of man threatening to jump.

Police were called to the Torridge Bridge in Bideford yesterday (Tuesday) to reports of a man threatening to jump.

Officers were called by a member of the public at 5pm and were very quickly on the scene.

The road was closed for around five minutes and by 5.09pm the man was safely in the police vehicle.

Officers returned him to the care of local healthcare professionals.
