A man is fighting for his life after being involved in a crash between a car and a motorbike in North Devon yesterday (Saturday).

The man’s Suzuki motorbike collided with a silver Mercedes on the A39 at Blackmoor Gate at around 1.24pm.

The motorcyclist, aged 48 and from Dorset, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with ‘life-threatening injuries’ according to Devon and Cornwall Police, which has urged witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman said: “Local officers as well as officers from the roads policing team, and serious collision investigation unit attended the scene.

“The driver of the Mercedes a 60-year-old male from the London area and a female passenger in the car were uninjured.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101 quoting the log number 454.”
