Man rescued from steep embankment

A male casualty was rescued by fire crews from Barnstaple after his vehicle left the highway and became lodged on the embankment.

FIRE CREWS rescued a male casualty from a vehicle lodged on a steep embankment this afternoon.

Two fire engines attended the road traffic collision just before 1pm on the A377 at Bishop’s Tawton which involved one private vehicle.

The vehicle had left the highway and become stuck on the embankment.

Crews from Barnstaple used safety at height equipment to stabilise the vehicle and small tools to rescue the casualty.
