Isolated man stuck on Peppercombe Beach suffered ‘medical complications’ last night (Thursday).

The RAF Chivenor Sea King and RNLI lifeboat crews were called to search for a man yesterday (Thursday).

The Clovelly lifeboat Toby Rundle was launched at 8.43pm after a request from the Coast Guard.

After a detailed search the Toby Rundle, the casualty was located on Peppercombe beach, near Bucks Mills, and two crew went ashore to assist.

The location was relayed to the Sea King and once the exhausted man, who suffered medical complications, was stabilised, the Chivenor helicopter airlifted him to hospital for further checks.

The Toby Rundle was safely back in the station at 10:07pm.
