Man rescued after falling on to rocks at Lynmouth

Specialist rescue teams out in force in the early hours of Sunday morning after man falls from Lyndale Bridge, Lynmouth.

A man was taken to hospital this morning (Sunday) after falling more than 20 feet on to rocks from Lyndale Bridge at Lynmouth.

The search and rescue helicopter from RMB Chivenor was called out but was unable to winch the casualty to a safe location.

He was rescued by a specialist fire service team from Barnstaple, which used ropes and a troll stretcher to move him.

The incident occurred just after 2am. The extent of the man’s injuries are not yet known.
