Firefighters called to the scene between Moortown Cross and Newtown

Firefighters were scrambled after reports that people were trapped following a road accident last night (Wednesday, November 8) on the A361 North between Moortown Cross and Newtown.

Three pumps, one from South Molton and two from Tiverton were immediately mobilised by Fire Control.

On arrival at around 6.45pm the officer in charge reported that one male was still inside the vehicle and being tended to by paramedics.

Crews got to work stabilising the vehicle and using small tools extricated the casualty from the vehicle.

The incident was left safe and in the hands of the police.
