A man, in his 20s has died as a result of his injuries after a collision at Yard Cross near Brayford yesterday (Wednesday).

A man has died following a serious collision near Yard Cross, Brayford, yesterday (Wednesday).

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8.30am to reports of a two-vehicle collision between a Peugeot 106 and a BMC coach carrying a number of school children.

The driver of the Peugeot, a man in his 20s, was cut from his car by fire fighters and airlifted to Derriford Hospital but later died as a result of his injuries.

No one else was injured in the collision.

The road was closed for five hours whilst local officers as well as officers from the Roads Policing Team and Serious Collison Investigation Unit attended the scene.
