The motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital after the collision near Torrington on August 28 but police confirmed he died in hospital this week.

A motorcyclist has died following a collision on the B3227 between Atherington and Torrington last month.

The motorcyclist, a 55-year-old man from Newton Abbot, sustained fatal injuries when his Suzuki bike collided with a black Mercedes car on Monday, August 28.

The man was airlifted from the scene to Derriford Hospital where he passed away on Tuesday (September 12).

The driver of the Mercedes, a man in his 60s, and two other occupants of the car were uninjured in the incident.

The road was closed for around five and a half hours while local officers, the Roads Policing Team and the Serious Collison Investigation Unit attended the Scene.
