Man arrested for carrying ‘large knife’ in Holsworthy

Police were authorised to use tasers after receiving reports of a man with a large knife in his pocket.

A 32-year-old man was arrested in Holsworthy on Friday night after police received reports he was walking around with a large knife in his pocket.

Officers were authorised to use tasers when they were scrambled to Victoria Street at around 7.45pm.

In the end police did not have to use the tasers and arrested the man on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and being in possession of cannabis.

The man, from the Bude area, was bailed until July 5. Anyone with any information can contact police on non-emergency number 101 quoting crime ref: CH/13/324.
