The A361 between Braunton and Ilfracombe was closed after two vehicles ‘t-boned’ and driver was airlifted to hospital.
A man in his 30s was airlifted to hospital after a two-vehicle collision on the A361 on Saturday.
The A361 was closed for nearly five hours after the crash at Spreacombe between an Audi A4 and a Ford Fiesta at 12.41pm.
Police arrived at the scene to find the vehicles ‘t-boned’, and fire and ambulance also attended.
The driver of the fiesta registered to Wadebridge, was flown to Derriford Hospital with pelvic injuries.
The passenger of the Audi, registered to Woolacombe, a man in his 70s, was also taken to hospital via land ambulance with minor injuries.
The driver of the Audi, a woman in her 70s, was described as ‘walking wounded’.
The road was closed between Mullacott and the Foxhunters, with traffic diverted from the scene.
Both vehicles needed a full recovery and the road was partially re-opened at 4pm.
It was full re-opened just after 5pm.
