The Devon Air Ambulance was called to Bideford yesterday (Sunday) after a man suffered a cardiac arrest. Paramedics were called at 12.20 when a 58-year-old man collapsed after finishing the Bideford 10k. The man was given CPR, and is understood to have been treated with a defibrillator before being airlifted to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital A Facebook post by race organisers Bideford Amateur Athletic Club confirmed that the man was recovering in hospital. They said: A massive heartfelt thank you to the group of runners and Medicare Southwest for their life saving actions at yesterdays 10k - also to the emergency services and Devon Air Ambulance Trust. We are pleased to say the gentleman is recovering at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
