A NEW dedicated service is being introduced by Torridge District Council to help people meet with council officers to discuss planning and development control matters.New duty hours are being introduced for its planning team. From September 1, members of the public will be able to visit the council offices at Riverbank House to discuss applications with planning officers from 9am - 1pm Monday to Friday. During this time officers and their support staff will be dedicated to helping with inquiries in person, with the aim of providing all the council's planning customers with the information they need in a 'one-stop-shop' approach and reducing the need for subsequent written communications.Maria Bailey, Community Planning and Developments Manager for Torridge District Council, said, "We're consolidating our time and resources in an effort to further improve on the quality of service we can offer to our residents. It will give people a greater opportunity to talk face to face with our planning officers and openly discuss any issues they may have.
