Three crews sent out to Norbord in Nadder Lane, South Molton, after machinery catches on fire.

A conveyor belt was involved in a fire at Norbord in South Molton last night (Tuesday).

Fire engines from South Molton, Barstaple and Chulmleigh along with an aerial ladder platform from Exeter were sent to a report of machinery alight at the factory in Nadder Lane.

On arrival crews got to work extinguishing the fire using six breathing apparatus wearers.

They used two hose reel jets and two main jets to combat the blaze, and thermal imaging cameras to investigate the spread of the fire.

The fire was successfully extinguished but the hopper and conveyor belt were completely destroyed by fire. The cause was accidental.
