Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses after a two-year-old girl was seriously injured following a collision with a car at Lynton.

It happened on Thursday at Crossmead at around 6.20pm when the young pedestrian, who was on holiday with her parents, was in collision with a grey coloured Mitsubishi.

The girl was airlifted to Musgrove Hospital in Taunton with serious injuries, however, has since moved to Bristol Children’s Hospital with no life changing injuries and expected to make a recovery.

The vehicle was driven by a 71-year-old woman local to the area. The toddler was with her family staying in Lynton for a week’s holiday from London.

Officers from the serious collisions unit attended the scene and the road was closed for four hours.
