A SPECIAL set of Lundy Island stamps has been produced to celebrate the 50th birthday of MS Oldenburg.The collection of six colour stamps features photographic depictions of the historic vessel in various livery and different aspects of sailing, with values of 10puffin, 34puffin, 44puffin, 47puffin, 59puffin and 65puffin. First day covers, mint sets and presentation packs were available from Saturday. (May 10)"The Lundy postal service is the oldest private postal service in the world, so the stamps are very collectable and highly sought after by philately enthusiasts," said Lundy's general manager, Derek Green.Built in 1958 by the Rolandwerft GmbH shipbuilders in Bremen, Germany, and launched on August 6 of that year, the Oldenburg was bought by the Landmark Trust in 1985 and brought to Bideford.
