Lundy race organisers hope for maximum entry

ROUND-the-world yachtsman Steve White will be the starter for Ilfracombe Yacht Club's fifth Tribute Around Lundy Race on Saturday, August 8.
Steve, who finished eighth in this year's Vendee Globe race, will be guest of honour at the yacht club on the evening before the event. He is due to compete in the Rolex Fastnet Race on August 9.
Entries for the Around Lundy race are coming in quickly from both sides of the Bristol Channel.
It is hoped that the maximum 75 entries will be registered before the start.

Yachts up to 40 feet can compete in this challenging event, which sees the crews sailing from Ilfracombe, around the back of Lundy and back to Ilfracombe again, fighting the wind and some of the most treacherous tides in the world in the process.
