SIR - At long last, Lundy Island has been named as the first marine conservation area in England.

Its importance for marine conservation has now been recognised and I do hope the impressive range of wildlife in the seas around Lundy Island - with it being the only place in the UK where five cup corals exist together - will not be even remotely disturbed by the proposed RWE npower renewables wind farm planned offshore in the Bristol Channel. If this will be 14km (about nine miles) off the coast of North Devon and 18km (11.8 miles approximately) off the coast of Wales and if all the "woulds" and "mays" come to fruition, won't it all represent a conflict of interests off the North Devon coast with Lundy Island's precious waters in the middle, or too close for comfort to it all?
