Lucky Pauline wins new laptop

A regular user of computer training sessions at the Community Centre in Whiddon Valley in Barnstaple is looking forward to be able to practise her new skills after winning a new laptop in a free prize draw.

Pauline Collins entered after attending a free “Go On get more out of life online” event earlier this year held in conjunction with UK Online Centres and the draw was open to all who signed up for a further three sessions.

The courses covered a wide variety of basic computer use, as well as internet use accessing public services and Government websites, banking, social networking, paying bills and insurance searches.

The centre currently runs an employment skills club every Tuesday plus basic computer skills every Wednesday and Thursday, as well as intermediate sessions on Friday, which Pauline regularly attends.

She is looking forward to replacing her old computer with the new laptop and said she enjoyed the sessions, which covered all the necessary basics a computer user might need, with easy to understand lessons covering every step.
