A HEAP of dung from a local farm is one of the more unusual lots up for grabs in a special auction being held to raise money for a village school and pre-school.

A speed boat trip, fishing trip, flat screen television, hotel breaks and dinner dates are also on offer at the auction of promises being held in aid of Landkey School and Preschool on Friday of next week.

"We have 39 lots to date with more coming in," said fund-raiser Sue Wheaton.

"Local businesses and people who have so kindly donated lots and everyone at the school would like to say a big thank-you for all their help."
